The works of the artist Edith Meijering is an investigation about the prescriptive imaging the mass culture opposite the social cliches, privacy and poses, and balancing between eroticism and innocence.

In the first instance these works seem accessible. But when you take a closer look it seems like these images mangle and wrangle. The fresh and fruity A-typical colours of these portraits are attracting attention. But, nothing is as it seems. And the material? In between the thin paint you can see the soft drawings. You can almost feel the vulnerability and fragility between the paint.
