Desperate Artwives Takeovers are a new series of collaborative performances by the DAW collective.  In both galleries and public spaces the collective ‘Takeover’ the spaces in and around events and buildings in performative and interruptive actions of public art. 

In these ‘Takeovers’ the collective responds to specific events, sites and current issues of women and mother artists. 

Public Takeovers began with a conversation between founder Amy Dignam adn Artist Susan Merrick. They wanted to move the previous ‘gallery’ takeovers into the open, and into public spaces.

Using both physical public spaces and online social media the Takeovers are a collective, public response to issues faced by Women, Mothers and Women Artists.
